Swoon Pattern: Donna Handbag

Alright so this was a bag of first: first Swoon pattern, first piping project, first time using Soft and Stable, and first time doing a drop-in lining method..........

I screamed at this project, there was blood and there were tears but the result:

If you notice the back strap is not entirely connected, hence the screaming...

Yep, got the lining all in and was finishing the handle and this happened. Don't worry I fixed it but I defiantly had to step a way for a bit (to grab a glass of wine).

Overall the pattern is well written and easy to follow, I just had a lot of firsts in this project. Piping is not my favorite, but it does add a finished look to things...

New Purse!

So when your dog does this to your favorite purse:

There is only one thing to do, try to recreate it. This was my result!

I am very happy with how it turned out, and I never used the seam ripper! Although I did go through 2 paper bags trying to get things just right :)

Robot softy

Sewmamasew started a softy challenge and I thought it would be fun to design something. And the first thing I thought of was a robot, but one that has some actual robot stuff to it. The sketch shows my original idea.

This then turned into a month long project...I have never done anything like this but I am pleased with the result :) The robot has 6 electrical components; speaker, sound sensor, light sensor, tilt sensor and finally a rain sensor because I live in Oregon and robots don't like rain....

On the robot I added buttons and random patches:)

There is a trunk in the back I figured if I wanted to make more sensors I would need a place to store the extras.

I really enjoyed making this. I have done very little softy sewing so this was a stretch for me!
